The SGS 00836 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in close-tolerance machining operations. The tool measures 0.0300 inches (1/32 inch) in cutting diameter with a 3/32 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Overall length is 1.5000 inches. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this end mill delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for small-feature work such as slots, pockets, and profiling passes. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindle setups where small-diameter tooling is the standard.
The SGS 00836 is suited for shops performing small-part machining, mold work, engraving, and fine-detail contouring where a 1/32 inch cutting diameter is required. The 2-flute configuration promotes chip evacuation in slotting and plunge applications. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction makes it appropriate for aluminum, brass, plastics, and other materials where coating buildup is not a concern. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter before applying cutting loads. At 0.0300 inches in diameter, this tool is susceptible to breakage from excessive feed rates, runout, or improper tool projection — minimize stick-out and verify spindle runout before engaging the cut. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder recommendations for speeds and feeds appropriate to the work material.
