The SGS 00577 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered materials. With a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) mill diameter and a 9/32 inch (0.2813 inch) length of cut, this single-end tool delivers clean, square shoulders and flat-bottom features in tight-tolerance applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. Built from micrograin carbide, it maintains edge sharpness and dimensional stability under demanding cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this tool class.
This end mill is suited for light to moderate slotting, profiling, and contouring operations in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common to benchtop and production machining setups. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for non-ferrous metals, aluminum alloys, and plastics where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a concern. The regular length profile and 1-1/2 inch overall length keep deflection low in short-reach applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder. Part of the SGS Series 1810 product line.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
