The SGS 00559 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 3/64 inch (0.0500 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.15 inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work and tight-tolerance slotting or profiling. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Carbide construction with a micrograin grade substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. This end mill is uncoated, centercutting, and runs right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flutes. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision CNC operators.
The SGS 00559 is suited for finish milling, slotting, and profiling passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Its small diameter makes it appropriate for intricate features, fine engraving paths, and narrow slot operations. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) in diameter, compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for that shank diameter. Overall length is 1.5000 inches, classifying it as a regular-length tool. It is sold individually and is part of the SGS Series 1810 line of square end mills.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the SGS Series 1810 square end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. At this diameter, runout control is critical — verify TIR with a dial indicator before cutting to avoid premature tool breakage.
