The SGS 00544 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.035-inch cutting diameter and a 0.105-inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-bore profiles, slots, and contours. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Micrograin carbide construction delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding cuts on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for use with or without cutting fluid. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is well suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills performing small-diameter slotting, profiling, and plunge-capable operations in production and job-shop environments. The 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders in that size range. Its regular-length classification and 1.5-inch overall length make it appropriate for close-clearance setups where reach is limited. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank, within the 0.100-inch to 0.200-inch length-of-cut range classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Ensure the collet bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation, as micro-diameter end mills are sensitive to collet concentricity and can deflect or fracture under excessive runout or improper feed rates.
