The SGS 00356 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.0625-inch cutting diameter, a 0.09-inch length of cut, and a 1.5-inch overall length, this stub-length tool is built for rigidity in tight-clearance cuts. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to high-speed milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This uncoated end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpiece material. It is sized for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter precision cutting is required.
The SGS 00356 is suited for small-feature milling, slotting, and profiling in tool rooms, production shops, and prototype machining environments. The 0.125-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in benchtop mills and full-size CNC machining centers. Its stub-length geometry minimizes deflection, making it a practical choice when working with harder alloys or when tool overhang must be kept to a minimum.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use small-diameter end mill for standard 0.125-inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening to prevent pullout during cutting. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine manufacturer guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
