The SGS 00313 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of small-feature geometry in metalworking and machining applications. At 0.017 inches in diameter with a 0.026-inch length of cut, this tool is built for micro-scale slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where tight tolerances are required. The 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation at high spindle speeds. With a micrograin carbide substrate, the tool maintains edge integrity under demanding cutting conditions. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill fits applications requiring fine detail work in stub-length configurations. The 0.125-inch shank diameter accommodates standard collet systems and end mill holders. The 1.5-inch overall length keeps deflection low, which is critical at this diameter range. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow standard CNC milling conventions. The uncoated finish suits a broad range of base materials where coated tooling is not required or where regrinding is anticipated.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production tooling in the SGS Series 1620 line. Fits any tool holder or collet accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation and operation of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify collet condition and runout before seating the shank, as runout at this diameter scale will significantly affect tool life and cut quality. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
