The SECO 74077375 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert in the SPGX style, designed for use in Perfomax series indexable drills. It carries the T400D manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating for extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. The insert has a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, an 11-degree relief angle, and a 0.5-inch (12.70 mm) inscribed circle diameter. Thickness is 0.156 inches. The C1 chipbreaker geometry is built to manage chip flow in demanding drilling applications. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and tooling technicians in CNC and conventional drilling setups.
This insert is suited for universal material grades covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is intended for use in Perfomax series indexable drill bodies that accept the SPGX 12T3 insert size. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in production machining environments, both job shop and high-volume manufacturing. The PVD TiAlN and TiN coating combination provides thermal resistance and wear protection across these diverse material categories.

Insert seating and torque should follow the drill body manufacturer's tool assembly documentation for the Perfomax platform. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or drive key as specified for the clamp screw to avoid seat damage. Handle carbide inserts with care — edges are sharp and the substrate is brittle under impact.
