The SECO 74068363 is a profile-style end replaceable milling tip designed for the Minimaster MM12 modular milling system. Manufactured from solid carbide with a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating, this tip provides wear resistance and thermal stability in demanding metal removal applications. It carries a manufacturer grade of F30M and a chipbreaker designation of MD05. The cutting diameter is 0.472 inches, the maximum depth of cut is 0.483 inches, and the functional length is 0.556 inches. The lead angle is 90 degrees with a corner radius of 0.236 inches. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician installs this tip into a compatible MM12 shank holder.
This milling tip is suited for use in ferrous and exotic material machining environments including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is a right-hand cut configuration with a 2-flute geometry that supports both roughing and semi-finish profiling operations. The MD05 chipbreaker geometry aids chip evacuation during slotting and shoulder milling. Typical installation environments include CNC machining centers in production and job shop settings where modular tooling systems are preferred for quick tip changes without removing the holder from the spindle.
Designed for use with MM12 series Minimaster modular milling shank holders. The tip insert size is 0.472-B90 and the full tip designation is MM12-0.472-B90-MD05. Coolant-through capability is not supported by this tip configuration.
Installation of end replaceable milling tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Use the correct torque wrench and seating tools specified by the shank holder manufacturer to avoid tip seating errors or thread damage. Inspect the mating pocket and clamping threads on the holder for chips or wear before installing a new tip. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut or axial engagement values specified for the MM12 system.
