The SECO 74068058 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters operating across demanding metal-cutting applications. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards under the designation 335.18-1005T-M10, this double-sided parallelogram insert carries a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a T-Land cutting edge style, a negative rake angle of 10 degrees, and four usable cutting edges, maximizing tool economy per insert. At 0.2126 inches thick and 0.3937 inches wide with an inscribed circle of 0.3937 inches, this insert is dimensioned to the 1005 size code within the 335.18-10 series. It is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians using a screw-held mounting method.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and N. It is intended for use in the SECO 335.18-1418 cutter series and performs across both roughing and general-purpose milling strategies where the M10 chip breaker geometry provides reliable chip control. Typical applications include face milling and shoulder milling on ferrous and exotic-alloy workpieces in production machining environments, job shops, and aerospace or energy-sector component manufacturing.
Designed for use with the SECO 335.18-1418 cutter series. ANSI and ISO designation 335.18-1005T-M10 applies. Confirm insert pocket geometry and seat dimensions against the cutter body before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer's specified seating procedure, and ensure the insert seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before securing. Do not mix worn and fresh cutting edges in the same cutter body pocket set, as uneven insert height can cause vibration and poor surface finish.
