The SECO 74019531 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT432-F2 series, designed for high-productivity metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiC, TiCN, and TiN applied over a carbide substrate, providing wear resistance and thermal protection across a range of cutting speeds. The insert features a diamond 80-degree included angle, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 1/32 inch corner radius, and a honed cutting edge. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 units per transaction.
This insert is suited for external and internal turning, facing, and boring operations in steel and stainless steel workpieces. The F2 chip breaker geometry and positive rake configuration promote controlled chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces, which is especially valuable during continuous cuts in medium-to-heavy stock removal passes. The TP40 grade classification positions it in the P40 and M35/M40 material grade range, making it appropriate for interrupted cuts and variable-condition work in production turning environments.
Designed for use in CCMT-style toolholders that accept a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, 3/16 inch thick diamond insert with a screw-lock holding method. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications on steel and stainless steel workpieces per primary workpiece material codes P and M.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state before any insert change. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp screw to avoid rocking or improper seating. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or wear before each insert change, as debris under the insert can cause premature edge failure or dimensional inaccuracy. Always index to the unused cutting edge before discarding the insert body.
