The SECO 74016936 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters in metal-cutting operations. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards under designation 335.19-12045T-MD09 with grade T25M, this insert features a TiCN coating applied via CVD process for improved wear resistance and heat management at the cutting edge. The square insert geometry provides four usable cutting edges per insert, with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle of 15 degrees. Thickness measures 0.1772 inches. It is installed and replaced by machining technicians and tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The MD09 chip breaker geometry and T-Land cutting edge style make it appropriate for medium-grain material applications at moderate to aggressive feed rates. The insert mounts via screw-holding into compatible 335.19-series milling cutter bodies. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose metal removal on CNC machining centers handling ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. It is a single-sided insert and is not reversible.
Designed for use with 335.19-series indexable milling cutter bodies. ANSI and ISO code 335.19-12045T-MD09 with cutter series compatibility listed as 335.19.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machining technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the mounting screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Confirm insert orientation and cutting edge engagement before resuming operation.
