The SECO 74016733 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer part number SPMX060204-75 in grade T25M. This square-shaped, single-sided insert is CVD-coated with TiCN for improved wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous milling operations. It features a positive rake angle of 20 degrees, an 11-degree relief angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. With four usable cutting edges and a neutral hand designation, it delivers consistent performance across tool rotations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and S. The 75 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-grain carbide substrate applications where controlled chip formation matters. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R215.49-3 and R335.16-3. Typical use cases include face milling, shoulder milling, and light profiling passes on CNC machining centers in both job-shop and production environments.
Confirmed compatible with SECO cutter series R215.49-3 and R335.16-3. ANSI and ISO code SPMX060204-75 may also be used to verify fitment with other SPMX-06 series toolholders per manufacturer documentation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Always index or replace inserts with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating method when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
