The SECO 74011753 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT-F2 series, designed for precision metal cutting operations including boring, facing, and turning. Featuring an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and an uncoated bright finish, this insert carries manufacturer grade HX with a honed cutting edge for controlled chip formation. The F2 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, the 74011753 delivers dimensional accuracy across demanding workpiece materials. It is installed via screw-holding and suits neutral-hand toolholders.
This insert is rated for use on superalloys, titanium, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, making it a versatile choice for machining shops running multi-material production. The F2 chip breaker geometry targets finishing operations where surface finish and edge consistency are critical. Positive rake and positive side clearance reduce cutting forces, which is particularly beneficial when machining difficult materials such as nickel-based superalloys and titanium alloys. Each package contains one insert; the minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stocking insert for CCMT-style toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 5/32-inch thick, screw-clamp insert with positive geometry. Suitable for boring bars, facing holders, and turning toolholders conforming to CCMT09T304 ISO and CCMT32.51 ANSI specifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician using the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or indexing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before installation, as an unclean pocket can affect insert seating and dimensional accuracy. Index or replace the insert at the first sign of edge wear to maintain surface finish and prevent workpiece or toolholder damage.
