The SECO 74005310 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC and manual turning centers. It carries the T25M manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiC, TiCN, and TiN for extended wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert has a 0.161-inch cutting width, a 0.009-inch corner radius, and a neutral lead angle with zero relief angle. With an overall length of 0.354 inches, it is sized for the Series 150.10 toolholder system. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert for precise, repeatable cutoff work.
This insert is suited for cut-off applications on universal workpiece materials, making it a general-purpose choice for production and job-shop turning environments. It is held in the toolholder by a clamp-style clamping method and is a single-end design, meaning each insert provides one usable cutting edge. The chipbreaker designation is 14. Typical use cases include parting off bar stock and grooving on OD turning setups in both light and medium stock removal conditions.
Designed for use with Series 150.10 clamping toolholders. Confirm holder pocket dimensions and insert size code 4 compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamp to the manufacturer-specified interface without over-torquing the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and edge alignment.
