The SECO 17016373 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in ferrous machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), this tool delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to standard HSS end mills. It features a 7/16 inch cutting diameter, a 13/16 inch length of cut, and a 2-flute, right-hand spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The centercutting design allows plunge cutting. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Machinists and tool-and-die shops working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys use this end mill for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations.
The 17016373 belongs to SECO's SP205 series, a short-length fractional inch end mill line intended for general-purpose milling in shop and production environments. The short overall length improves rigidity and reduces deflection when cutting harder materials such as stainless steel and high-temp alloys. This tool fits standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders used on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines. It is sold as a single-end tool, meaning once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than reindexed.

Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with milling machine setup and cutting tool safety.
