The SECO 17016212 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for high-efficiency material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN for added surface hardness and heat resistance, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It features a 1 inch mill diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 3.75 inch overall length. The 5-flute spiral geometry combined with a 30-degree maximum helix angle produces aggressive chip evacuation while maintaining stable cutting action. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard on this tool.
This roughing end mill suits production milling operations in job shops, toolrooms, and manufacturing facilities. It is well-suited for slotting, profiling, and heavy roughing passes on steel, stainless, and similar alloys where cobalt tooling is specified. The 0.75 inch shank diameter fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The Series REM445 designation places this tool within a recognized family of roughing geometry end mills built for rate-of-material-removal applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production roughing end mill for use in any machine tool accepting a 0.75 inch shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Confirm the holder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for direct plunge operations.
