The SECO 17014833 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiAlN coating, it handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials at elevated cutting temperatures. The mill measures 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch (1.6250 inch) length of cut and a 3-3/4 inch overall length. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree maximum helix angle and right-hand cutting direction provide efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this end mill fits standard milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance repair applications. The TiAlN coating extends tool life when cutting alloy steels, tool steels, and similar hard materials at higher spindle speeds. The 5/8 inch shank diameter seats directly into standard collet chucks, end mill holders, or Weldon-style holders. It is a single-end tool in the REM445 series, intended for high-stock-removal passes before finish milling.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention hardware according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on roughing geometry.
