The SECO 17013506 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN for improved wear resistance and heat tolerance, this tool handles demanding cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1 inch mill diameter, 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 0.75 inch shank diameter. The 5-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree maximum helix angle delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at high feed rates. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute design with a regular length profile. Machinists and tooling technicians working in job shops, production environments, or maintenance machining applications rely on this style of tool for roughing passes before finishing.
The 17013506 is suited for roughing operations in vertical and horizontal milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills. Its 3.75 inch overall length and 0.75 inch shank make it compatible with standard end mill holders and collet chucks used in general-purpose shop work. The TiCN coating extends tool life when cutting steels and alloys, making it a practical choice for production runs where tool changes reduce throughput. It is not a centercutting design and is not intended for plunge cutting applications.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 0.75 inch shank diameter, compatible with vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the 0.75 inch shank fully into a clean, properly torqued end mill holder or collet chuck before use. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. This tool is not centercutting — do not use it for direct plunge operations without a pre-drilled entry point.
