The SECO 17013497 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiCN for improved wear resistance and heat tolerance, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials in production and job-shop environments. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree maximum helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting. With a 0.750 inch mill diameter and 0.750 inch length of cut, it is sized for standard roughing passes on milling machines and machining centers. Installation and use are handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This roughing end mill suits horizontal and vertical milling applications where stock removal rate is the priority before finishing passes. The REM710 series designation places it in a purpose-built roughing line intended for production environments. The TiCN coating extends tool life compared to uncoated cobalt, making it a practical choice for shops running higher-volume programs on steel, stainless, and similar alloys. The 3 inch overall length fits standard tool holders without requiring extended-reach setups.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 3/4 inch tool holders on vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists using standard R8, CAT, BT, or HSK tool holders rated for 3/4 inch shank diameters. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm the tool holder collet or set screw is torqued per the holder manufacturer specification before running. Because this is a non-center-cutting end mill, do not use it for direct plunge entry into solid material.
