The SECO 17013180 is a single-end corner chamfer end mill from the VFP635 series, built for demanding material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 1-inch mill diameter with a 3-inch length of cut and a 0.0300-inch chamfer width ground at a 45-degree chamfer angle. The tool body is M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish. Four helical flutes with a super-close pitch and right-hand cutting direction make this cutter well-suited for roughing passes where chip control and edge durability are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers are the primary users.
This end mill is designed for operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down cutting, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The Weldon flat shank ensures positive drive in standard end mill holders and collet chucks. It is aimed at job shops and production environments working with high-temperature alloys and corrosion-resistant steels where standard HSS tooling loses edge life prematurely. No coolant-through provision is present, so flood or mist coolant via the spindle face is the standard approach.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as runout in excess of acceptable tolerance will accelerate edge wear in high-strength alloys.
