The SECO 17011752 is a single-end, square-profile cobalt end mill engineered for general-purpose milling across a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers greater heat and wear resistance than standard M2 HSS tools, making it well suited to interrupted cuts and harder alloys. The cutter measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 3-inch length of cut and a 5.125-inch overall length. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. The bright, uncoated finish maintains a sharp edge out of the box. This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom operators in manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.
The 17011752 is appropriate for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. The regular-length geometry and 0.625-inch shank diameter make it a direct fit for standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat holders used in both job shop and production environments. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding the range of operations to include slot milling, profile milling, and pocket ramping without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cobalt end mill for standard 0.625-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat holders used in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys per SECO Series SPC408 specifications.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Verify holder bore and collet size match the 0.625-inch shank diameter and confirm the tool is seated to the correct gauge length before torquing the drawbar or clamping screws. Never exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material being cut.
