The SECO 17007079 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. Built to Series S545R specifications, it features a 1 inch mill diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius tolerance of plus or minus 0.0010 inch. The five-flute geometry with a 45-degree high helix and right-hand cutting direction promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making this tool well-suited for extended runs in abrasive and hard workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists use this end mill in production and job-shop environments where tight dimensional control is required.
This end mill is intended for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to pocket and contour milling applications. The straight cylindrical shank, 1 inch in diameter, is compatible with standard toolholders. With a short length-type classification and normal pitch, it is optimized for rigidity and minimal deflection in close-tolerance finishing passes on CNC machining centers.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after clamping to confirm acceptable setup. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications; do not use excessive force that could deform the shank.
