The SECO 17007070 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.0150 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in finishing passes. The five-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this end mill well suited for dry or semi-dry machining strategies.
This end mill is designed for finishing operations on ferrous metals, stainless steel grades, nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and hardened steels typically encountered in aerospace, die and mold, and precision machining environments. Its stub-length profile and straight-cylindrical 1 inch shank provide rigidity in standard milling toolholders. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility for slotting and ramping applications. It is part of the SECO S545R series, which targets high-productivity finishing in difficult-to-machine materials.

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine control in an estop or locked-out state. Confirm toolholder bore and runout before seating the shank, as the specified maximum TIR is 0.0005 inches. Secure the shank to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer stated clamping torque for this shank diameter.
