The SECO 17007036 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 0.5000 inch mill diameter with a 0.0600 inch corner radius, producing smooth, repeatable edge breaks and reducing stress concentrations at part corners. The five-flute geometry with a 45-degree high helix and right-hand cutting direction promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlTiN (PVD) coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during aggressive finishing passes. Licensed machinists and toolroom operators use this end mill in CNC machining centers with compatible straight-cylindrical toolholders.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and hard materials in both production and job-shop environments. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and is appropriate for profiling, contouring, and shallow pocketing where corner radius geometry is specified on the workpiece. It belongs to SECO Series S545R and is intended for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. The standard-length flute and normal pitch make it a practical choice for general finishing passes where tool overhang is not a limiting factor.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical toolholders per SECO Series S545R specifications. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys and titanium (S), and hard materials (H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or turret is de-energized before mounting or removing the end mill. Confirm toolholder runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch; excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer torque specifications when clamping the straight shank.
