The SECO 17007002 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 0.0150 inch corner radius, and five flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection when cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. At 2 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity and reduced deflection. It is centercutting and accepts standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. The 17007002 is designed for finishing passes in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, S, H). Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the end mill. Verify runout against the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after clamping. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque recommendations for the collet or set-screw toolholder in use.
