Product Description

The SECO 17006979 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding materials. It features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0150 inch corner radius, and 5 flutes ground in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 45-degree high helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. With centercutting capability and a straight cylindrical shank, this tool mounts directly into standard toolholders and is suited for precision finishing passes in CNC machining environments.

This end mill is intended for finishing applications in short-reach, close-tolerance setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its 1/4 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited for shallow profiling, contouring, and slotting in hardened steels and exotic alloys. The normal pitch flute geometry keeps chip evacuation predictable at elevated feed rates.
