The SECO 17003622 is a single-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it a long-series tool suited for deeper reach operations. The 5-flute geometry with a 45-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and improved surface finish at higher feed rates. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic alloys. This tool is installed and applied by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
The 17003622 is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding its usefulness in slotting, side milling, and ramping operations. The straight 3/4 inch shank seats directly into standard end mill holders, collet chucks, or shrink-fit tooling. Its long length of cut makes it well suited for deep pocket milling and tall workpiece features where a standard-length end mill would not reach.
Designed for use in standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders. Part of the SECO Series S545 long-series end mill line. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, N, H).
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut; excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish.
