The SECO 17003582 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. This single-end tool features a 1/8 inch diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 1-1/2 inch overall length, making it suited for precision work in confined spaces and detailed profiling operations. The 5-flute geometry and 45-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating provides thermal and wear resistance, extending tool life when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. This end mill is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, N, and H indicate suitability for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped before tool changes. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to maintain runout within specification. Verify TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inches after installation using a dial test indicator. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
