The SECO 17003427 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that helps reduce stress concentrations and extend tool life at the cutting edge. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with a medium helix and AlTiN PVD coating makes this tool well suited for both roughing and finishing operations. It is used primarily by machining professionals in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments where high-performance end milling of difficult materials is required.
This end mill is appropriate for milling steel and stainless steel components as well as superalloys and titanium alloys commonly found in aerospace and medical manufacturing. The Weldon flat shank interfaces directly with standard toolholders for secure, repeatable clamping. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in ramping and pocket milling operations. Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Confirm the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the Weldon flat shank, and torque the set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before initiating a cut. Always follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for end mill installation.
