The SECO 17003420 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating adds heat and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-temperature cutting conditions common in aerospace, die and mold, and precision machining environments. It is a single-end, centercutting design, so it can be fed axially into a workpiece. Machinists and CNC operators working with ISO material groups P, M, and S are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill fits stub-length applications where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length keep overhang short, which supports aggressive roughing and finishing passes on ferrous and high-strength alloy materials. The Weldon flat shank seats securely in compatible toolholders and minimizes pullout under heavy radial loads. It is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers running right-hand cutting programs. The Series S335 designation identifies it within SECO's corner radius end mill family for general-purpose and high-performance milling.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch Weldon flat shank. Suitable for CNC milling machines operating with right-hand cutting programs on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state before tool changes. Seat the Weldon flat fully in the toolholder and torque the set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and depth of cut.
