The SECO 17003419 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 7/16 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.0200 inch corner radius, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes in hardened and high-strength materials. The AlTiN physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating adds thermal resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With three flutes, a right-hand spiral flute direction, and a 35-degree medium helix, the tool balances chip evacuation with cutting stability across a range of CNC milling applications. It ships as a single-end, centercutting tool in the SECO S335 series.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where corner rounding, profiling, and slotting operations require a durable, coated carbide solution. The Weldon flat shank is compatible with standard side-lock toolholders, providing positive radial drive without slippage under aggressive feeds. Its short length type and coarse pitch geometry make it practical for stable cuts in tough ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. Designed for use with standard Weldon flat side-lock toolholders accepting a 7/16 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Verify shank engagement depth meets the toolholder manufacturer minimum before tightening the set screw against the Weldon flat. Confirm runout does not exceed the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after installation to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life.
