The SECO 17003405 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Built to Series S335 specifications, it features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree medium helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating delivers elevated heat and oxidation resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting applications. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments will find this cutter effective for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
This end mill is configured as a single-end, centercutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank, allowing direct mounting in standard toolholders. The 9/16 inch (0.5625 inch) length of cut and 2 inch overall length suit it to shallow-to-mid-depth pocket milling, contouring, and profile work. The coarse pitch and right-hand cutting direction are optimized for chip evacuation in tough ferrous and exotic alloy stock. It does not include a chipbreaker and does not support coolant-through operation, so external coolant or air blast is the typical delivery method.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (Material Codes P, M, S).
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch after seating. This tool does not support coolant-through, so external coolant or air blast should be directed at the cutting zone to manage heat and chip evacuation.
