The SECO 17003139 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 7/32-inch (0.2188 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and a 1/4-inch straight shank, with an overall length of 2-1/2 inches. The three-flute, spiral geometry runs at a 45-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting performance. The bright, uncoated finish and micrograin carbide construction make it well suited to high-speed passes in softer metals. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, installed and run by machinists and CNC operators.
This end mill is primarily intended for machining aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous alloys in both production and job-shop environments. Its center-cutting capability allows plunge entry, making it practical for pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. The compact 2-1/2-inch overall length and 1/4-inch shank suit it to smaller spindle toolholders and high-speed spindles where rigidity is important. It carries the Series A345 designation.
Designed as a Series A345 replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for applications involving aluminum and non-ferrous materials (Primary Workpiece Material Code: N). No specific machine model compatibility was stated in the product data.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. The tool should be seated fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet or end-mill holder before torquing the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify spindle runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated cutting geometry for the workpiece material, and confirm that coolant-through is not required, as this tool does not support it.
