The SECO 17002636 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding cutting environments. The 0.029-inch cutting diameter and 0.087-inch length of cut make it well suited for fine-feature milling, slotting, and contouring in tight geometries. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating interference or compatibility with specific cutting fluids is a concern. With a 30-degree helix angle and four spiral flutes in a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration, this end mill is engineered for efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in a wide range of material grades.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations across job shops, tool and die environments, and precision machining facilities. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece, adding flexibility to toolpath programming.
The 17002636 belongs to the SECO ME430 series and is designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit option for applications requiring a 0.029-inch diameter, four-flute, 1/8-inch shank solid carbide square end mill. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys per ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Seat the 1/8-inch straight shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and tighten to the tool holder manufacturer's specified clamping torque using calibrated tooling. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0001 inches using a dial test indicator before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or apply side loads beyond the 0.087-inch length of cut to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
