The SECO 17002359 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. Built on the S938R series platform, it features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 0.0600-inch corner radius, and 9 flutes ground to a super-close pitch for aggressive stock removal with a refined surface finish. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting abrasive and heat-resistant workpiece materials. At 4 inches overall length with a 1-5/8-inch length of cut, this tool is suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where edge integrity is critical. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is engineered for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral flute geometry support conventional and climb milling strategies on CNC machining centers. The straight-cylindrical 3/4-inch shank seats directly into standard toolholders. The short-length classification keeps deflection minimal, making this tool appropriate for rigid setups where tolerance control is a priority. It is a single-end tool with no chipbreaker and is not center-cutting, so it is not suited for direct plunging operations.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S). Part of the SECO S938R series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR before beginning a production cut.
