The SECO 17002343 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. Built to the S938R series specification, it features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.030 inch corner radius, and 9 flutes in a super-close pitch configuration. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting at elevated temperatures. At 3 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool optimized for rigidity. It is installed in CNC machining centers and milling machines by machinists and toolroom professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, making it well suited for aerospace, die-and-mold, and general precision machining operations. The single-end, right-hand cutting geometry with a medium helix angle supports both roughing and finishing passes. The stub length design reduces deflection and improves surface finish in shorter-reach applications. It mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders with a 5/8 inch shank diameter.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC milling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium per material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully in a compatible toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut. Do not use this tool as a center-cutting end mill, as this series is not rated for plunge entry.
