The SECO 17002216 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/4 inch (0.7500 inch) mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part edges and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner geometry. The 40-degree high helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN PVD coating improves wear resistance and lubricity in aluminum, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials. This tool is part of the AN340 series and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators performing both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills operating on non-ferrous workpiece materials such as aluminum alloys, brass, and copper. The single-end, centercutting design allows for plunge entry as well as peripheral and face milling. The extended reach configuration, with a 3-7/8 inch reach length, accommodates deeper pockets and stepped features where standard-reach tooling cannot reach. It mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders sized for 3/4 inch shank diameter.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Optimized for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials per series AN340 application guidelines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per standard shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Verify runout against the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification using a dial indicator after clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque recommendations for the collet or set-screw style holder in use.
