The SECO 17002197 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.0100-inch corner radius, and a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) PVD coating that improves surface hardness and wear resistance. With 3 right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree high helix angle, this tool is built for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The 5/16-inch length of cut and stub-length profile keep the tool rigid during aggressive material removal. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments will find this tool well-suited to tight-tolerance work in aluminum, copper, and other non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is intended for use with standard toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank. The stub-length design and 0.24-inch neck diameter provide extended reach of 0.75 inches while maintaining rigidity. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry and full-depth slotting where needed. The coarse pitch and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with conventional CNC vertical mills and machining centers running non-ferrous workpieces. It is sold as a single-piece unit with a minimum order quantity of one.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is locked out before installing or removing the end mill. Use an appropriately sized collet or end mill holder to achieve proper runout control — this tool carries a maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches. Verify shank engagement depth meets toolholder manufacturer requirements before beginning a cut.
