The SECO 17002194 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It measures 3/16 inches in diameter with a 1/4 inch length of cut and carries a 0.0100 inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge while reducing stress concentrations at the workpiece corner. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with a 40-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN (PVD) coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and is built for both roughing and finishing operations. Machinists and CNC operators working with aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous materials will find this an efficient single-end tool for precision work.
The 17002194 belongs to the SECO AN340 series, a stub-length line designed for extended-reach applications without sacrificing rigidity. With a 9/16 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.1780 inches, it is well suited for milling inside pockets, slots, and stepped features where clearance is tight. Its straight-cylindrical 3/16 inch shank fits standard toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The coarse pitch and high helix make it particularly effective in high-speed machining of non-ferrous metals where chip load management and surface quality are priorities.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/16 inch cylindrical shank. Intended for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines processing non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper. Part of the SECO AN340 stub-length series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
