The SECO 17002181 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It carries a 5/8 inch cutting diameter with a 0.0250 inch corner radius, producing consistent edge geometry on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The three-flute, right-hand spiral configuration supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity. The 40-degree high-helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is critical when machining gummy non-ferrous alloys. Bright/uncoated finish makes this end mill suitable for use with or without coolant in appropriate setups.
The 17002181 belongs to SECO Series AN340 and is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Verify shank projection and reach requirements match the workpiece feature depth before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
