The SECO 17000069 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding applications. It carries a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree medium helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard or abrasive workpiece materials. At 4 inches overall length with a 5/8 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length, single-end tool built for both roughing and finishing operations. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician installs and qualifies this end mill in a Weldon flat toolholder.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. The extended reach configuration, with a 2-1/8 inch reach length and 0.4800 inch neck diameter, provides access to features with moderate depth requirements. The coarse pitch and solid carbide substrate maintain rigidity under aggressive cutting conditions in ferrous and exotic-alloy workpieces.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Part of the SECO SN335 series of corner radius end mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the toolholder and secure the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pullout. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before cutting. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before initiating any cut cycle.
