The SECO 17000019 is a single-end square end mill from the AN345 series, ground from micrograin solid carbide and designed for cutting aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, placing it in the long-reach category with a 4.125 inch reach length. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in aluminum, and the bright uncoated finish is standard for non-ferrous work where coatings can cause material adhesion. Three flutes provide a balance of chip clearance and surface finish. Installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling technicians, this end mill suits production and job-shop environments alike.
This end mill is intended for milling aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials where aggressive chip removal and smooth finishes are priorities. The long overall length and extended reach make it suitable for deep-pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations where standard-length tooling cannot reach the workpiece feature. The straight 0.5 inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders across common machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed for use in standard 0.5 inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and non-ferrous alloys per the AN345 series application designation (material code N).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine spindle at a full stop and energy isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before torquing the clamping mechanism. Verify runout against the published TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches after installation using a dial test indicator. Do not exceed the rated depth-of-cut or feed parameters for this tool diameter and material combination.
