The SECO 10268271 is a single-end, four-flute square end mill ground from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a SIRON-A coating. It carries a 7/64-inch (0.1094 inches) cutting diameter and a 3/8-inch length of cut, making it well suited for small-diameter milling work where rigidity and edge retention are critical. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, and the center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will recognize this as a general-purpose finishing cutter built for demanding work materials.
This end mill is designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. The SIRON-A coating adds wear resistance and thermal stability when cutting these harder and more abrasive materials. With a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard ER collets and toolholders common in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and high-speed spindles used in precision job shop and production environments. The regular-length geometry and 1.5-inch overall length are appropriate for shallow-to-moderate pocket depths.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8-inch collet or end mill holders accepting straight-cylindrical shanks per ANSI B94.19. Suitable for ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (high-temperature alloy) applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting; this tool carries a maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches and requires a clean, undamaged collet bore to maintain that tolerance.
