The SECO 10198775 is a single-sided carbide milling insert in the XOEX series, designed for face and shoulder milling operations where consistent chip control and edge life are critical. It carries a parallelogram shape with a positive rake angle of 20.3 degrees and a 15-degree relief angle, producing free-cutting action that reduces cutting forces. The insert is coated with a TiCN, Al2O3, and Chrome multilayer stack applied via the Duratomic coating process, which extends wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. Manufacturer grade MP3501 targets steel as the primary application, making this insert a reliable choice for machinists and tooling professionals running high-volume milling programs.
This insert is suited for use in CNC machining centers performing face milling, shoulder milling, or general-purpose material removal on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. The M07 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow effectively across varying depths of cut up to 0.4724 inches. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217/220.69-12 and is identified by ANSI and ISO code XOEX120408R-M07. The right-hand cutting direction and screw-clamping holding method make it straightforward to index or replace in the field. Typical users include CNC machinists, toolroom operators, and production machining shops.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217/220.69-12. Rated for material grades P20, P30, P40 (steel), K20, K30, K40 (cast iron), and secondary workpiece materials including stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium (M and S grade classifications).
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians using standard torx or hex key drivers appropriate for the cutter body's insert screw. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Verify the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before torquing the clamping screw. Follow the cutter body manufacturer's recommended clamping torque specification for the R217/220.69-12 series.
