The SECO 10070631 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG432-MF2 geometry, grade TH1501, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. It features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 0.0315-inch corner radius. The insert carries a CVD-applied Duratomic TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating engineered for wear resistance and thermal stability. With 4 cutting edges, a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, and the MF2 chip breaker geometry, this insert is suited for finishing and medium turning passes in hard materials and cast iron. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and index this insert on production lathes and turning centers.
This insert is designed for boring, facing, and turning operations in hard materials (ISO material code H) and cast iron (ISO material code K). The MF2 chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation at moderate to light depths of cut, up to 0.4764 inches maximum. It is compatible with CNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever-lock insert holding methods. The CNMG432-MF2 industry standard designation and ISO code CNMG120408-MF2 allow direct cross-reference to equivalent toolholder systems.

Installation and indexing of turning inserts should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use a torx or hex key of the correct size specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the clamp, pin, or lever-lock mechanism — do not overtighten by feel alone; follow toolholder manufacturer seating procedures. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new cutting edge.
