The SECO 10023142 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/8-inch diameter, a 0.030-inch corner radius, and three flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a 45-degree high helix angle. The ANF PVD coating reduces built-up edge and extends tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. With a 4-inch overall length and a 2-inch extended reach, this is a long-reach tool suited for deep-pocket and cavity milling. It is center-cutting and single-end, making it capable of plunging directly into a workpiece. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, or aerospace and automotive environments will find this tool well-suited to both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is intended for use in non-ferrous metal applications where a corner radius is needed to reduce stress concentration at the floor-to-wall transition of a pocket or slot. The 3/4-inch length of cut, combined with a 2-inch reach length and a neck diameter of 0.360 inches, allows access to features that standard-length tools cannot reach. The coarse pitch flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in high-volume material removal. It seats in standard straight-bore toolholders using a 3/8-inch cylindrical shank. Series AN345R from SECO is a long-reach variant of the AN345 platform.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum, brass, and copper. Part of the SECO AN345R series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate wrench or collet nut. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and degrades surface finish.
