The SECO 10023072 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to the A345R series specification, it features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 0.0100-inch corner radius that extends tool life by reducing stress concentration at the cutting edge. The 3-flute, single-end geometry with a 45-degree high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An ANF PVD coating provides added hardness and wear resistance. This tool is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry, and runs in a right-hand cutting direction with a right-hand flute spiral. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary installers of this tooling.
The SECO 10023072 is suited for roughing and finishing passes on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Its long-length designation, with a 4-inch overall length and 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank, makes it compatible with standard toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The coarse pitch flute design and high helix style help manage chip load at higher feed rates typical in non-ferrous material removal. This end mill is appropriate for both production environments and job shop applications requiring consistent corner geometry control.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials as indicated by primary workpiece material code N. Compatible with vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cutting operation.
