The SECO 10023055 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The three-flute geometry combined with a high helix angle and coarse pitch promotes efficient chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing operations. An ANF PVD coating provides enhanced surface hardness and wear resistance. This single-end, centercutting tool belongs to SECO Series A345R and mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders.
This end mill is suited for milling non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys, copper, and similar materials in machining centers and CNC milling machines. Its centercutting capability allows it to plunge directly into the workpiece. The 2.5 inch overall length and 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with common collet chucks and shrink-fit holders used in production and job-shop environments. The corner radius geometry is particularly useful when machining pockets and slots where a radiused floor blend is required to reduce stress risers in the finished part.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders including collet chucks and shrink-fit holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank. Primary material application is non-ferrous metal.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and all motion axes at rest. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder per the holder manufacturer specifications before engaging the spindle. Check runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after assembly to confirm proper seating. Licensed machinists and CNC operators should follow shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements during setup.
