The SECO 10022736 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the AB245 series, designed for high-performance milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree high helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation in soft, gummy materials. The ANF coating is applied via a PVD process and is optimized for non-ferrous applications, reducing built-up edge and improving surface finish. With a 2-flute, right-hand spiral geometry and a single-end configuration, this tool is suited for both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. Machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers specify this end mill for general-purpose and finishing work on aluminum alloys.
This ball end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual mills where a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank is the standard interface. The ball nose profile makes it appropriate for profiling, contouring, slotting, and 3D surface work in aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. The 2-1/2 inch overall length and standard length designation make it a direct fit for everyday production and prototype milling tasks. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry, expanding its range of tool paths without requiring a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals (material code N). Part of the SECO AB245 series; catalog reference AB245-0.375-D3-B.0-Z2.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet nut is secured before loading. Verify shank runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification after tool seating. Follow the machine manufacturer torque specifications for the collet nut or end mill holder used.
