The SECO 10008530 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree variable helix angle. The variable helix geometry reduces chatter and improves surface finish during high-feed milling operations. Made from micrograin carbide and finished with an HTA coating, this single-end tool is built for consistent performance in demanding shop environments. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC technicians across job shop and production settings.
This end mill is suited for milling steel and cast iron in light to moderate roughing and finishing passes, as well as aluminum and non-ferrous alloys where a sharp, center-cutting geometry is required. The 1/4 inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines. The standard length profile and right-hand cut and flute direction suit general-purpose milling applications where reach is not a limiting factor.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 1/4 inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals per SECO Series STS430.2 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Verify collet or holder runout before tightening to specification for the holder type in use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being applied.
